Tynemouth Pier

Paddling south from Longsands takes us to King Edwards Bay and on towards the pier. The view of the priory and castle from this vantage point is extraordinary. Once you reach the pier you are impressed by the height of the walls. It’s incredible to think that when the conditions are right (or rather wrong) you can see waves crashing over the top of the wall. When we go this way it is traditional to touch the end of the pier.
